Instructional Method

Lecture/Lab consisting of a mixture of interactive lectures and hands-on formal Labs to provide practical techniques, coupled with Planning Exercises to emphasise design objectives. Delegates are encouraged to ask questions and challenge assumptions as part of the learning process. Delegates will work in pairs and explore a topic “from the keyboard” as the class progresses. Each day will usually commence with a short test which acts as a review of the previous days work.

Delegates will work in pairs to complete practical objectives; each pair will have the exclusive use of at least three PCs as well as being connected into the wider classroom network.

The course will be aimed at real-world skills directly relevant to the delegates work environment. Some theory is inescapable however this will be minimised as much as possible.

Pre-requisites

Little or no knowledge of Exchange or how e-mail servers work is assumed, however a familiarity with Active directory based networks would be beneficial.

While not mandatory, knowledge of the following topics will allow delegates to gain fully from this course:

An understanding of PC hardware e.g. Disks, memory, Adapter cards etc
An understanding of how PCs communicate on a network
A basic familiarity with the principles of User account management in Active Directory
