1.1 Induction

1.2 Unit M3.12 Motivating to Perform in the Workplace

Objectives
Define performance appraisal and plan for the interview
Agree performance objectives and monitor performance against objectives
Ask appropriate questions and listen to employees during performance interview
Select appropriate method to improve performance 
Draw up action plans and complete appraisal documents
Understand what motivates people at work
Apply appropriate motivational techniques for teams and individuals
Give and receive feedback as a means of improving performance

Outcomes
You will be more conscious of what motivates people you work with
When you identify what motivates people you will know how to address it
You will understand how to provide informal motivational feedback and course correction throughout the year
You understand how to conduct formal appraisals and performance reviews as required

Module 2

Duration: 2 x 1 days (with 2 – 3 weeks between the 2 days)

Unit M3.01 Solving Problems and Making Decisions

Objectives
Describe and analyse problems
Identify what a problem is and its cause or causes
Understand the need to collect information and what kind of information
Understand how to analyse numerical and qualitative data
Know how to use statistics
Know how to generate a range of solutions to a problem and choose the right one
Understand and be able to use decision making models
Be able to plan, implement and communication chosen solutions

Outcomes
Know how to describe a problem, its nature, scope and impact
Know how to gather and interpret information to solve a problem
Know how to solve a problem
Know how to plan the implementation and communication of decisions

Module 3

Duration: 1 day

Unit M3.21 Organising and Delegating

Objectives
To be able to forecast and assign human resources as required to complete objectives
Understand the benefits of delegating
Be able to delegate, monitor and control outcomes
Learn how to use feedback effectively to provide reward and recognition

Course Outcomes
Know how to organise people to achieve objectives
Know how to delegate to achieve workplace objectives
